Ukraine and Poland face the challenge of a progressively aging population, which creates increasing demand for healthcare services. Rehabilitation is particularly needed by seniors who are susceptible to disabilities related to natural aging processes, injuries, and overuse. People engaged in farming are at risk of various occupational hazards and health problems, such as nervous system and spine diseases.

The main objective of the PL-UARehab project is to improve access to high-quality therapeutic rehabilitation for musculoskeletal and nervous system disorders in Hrubieszów Powiat and Lutsk Raion. Within the project, the rehabilitation ward in Hrubieszów Hospital will be modernized and reconstructed. Additionally, kinesitherapy and physical therapy equipment, furniture, and IT equipment will be purchased for the inpatient and day rehabilitation departments. The hospital in Rozhyshche will obtain equipment for diagnostics and rehabilitation. Four training trips to rehabilitation and sanatorium centers in eastern Poland and western Ukraine, as well as three training courses for physiotherapists, will be organized.

A study on the health of farmers is another project element. Based on this study, a brochure will be published on the treatment and rehabilitation of the musculoskeletal system of agricultural workers, with a particular focus on comprehensive diagnostics. This brochure aims to raise awareness among this occupational group about the state of their health.

Through cooperation, the project partners will be able to provide an improved and expanded rehabilitation offer. The project will also have a multiplier effect, as its outputs will be utilized by other hospitals.
