Effective sewerage systems are vital for maintaining a healthy and clean environment. Collecting and disposing of wastewater safely and efficiently helps prevent the spread of diseases, reduces the risk of water and soil contamination, and ensures the convenience and comfort of everyday life.
The AquaForce project is a joint initiative of Rivne and Lublin aimed at improving the sanitary-epidemiological state of water resources. This will be achieved through the reconstruction of storm sewer networks in Rivne and the development of sanitary networks in Lublin. The project aims to connect approximately 7840 residents to a public wastewater treatment system. The partners also aim to promote sustainable water resource management and create conditions for access to clean water in the cross-border basin. In addition to construction and reconstruction works, several activities are planned to build the capacity of water management institutions and increase public awareness of nature-oriented solutions. These activities include conferences, informational meetings for youth and children, information campaigns in social media, TV and radio broadcasts, lessons in kindergartens and educational tours. Furthermore, a strategy for rainwater management will be developed.
In the long term, the implementation of the project will ensure more efficient use of rainwater, leading to reduced consumption from water supply networks. Additionally, it will help to minimize the risk of flooding and pollution, contributing to the protection of the environment and positively affecting human health.
