Coordinated efforts among multiple institutions can achieve results that would be impossible through independent actions. In medicine, integrating education, research, and practice is essential. The HealthBridges project, implemented by two partners from Poland and three from Ukraine (comprising three universities and two hospitals), is a timely initiative aimed at creating a cooperative platform to improve healthcare quality and reduce inequalities in access to modern diagnostics and effective treatment.

As part of the project, a cross-border cooperation platform called HEALTH BRIDGES will be established to facilitate collaboration between Polish and Ukrainian doctors using digital tools and solutions. This platform will be used for organizing trainings and consultations, diagnosing and analyzing complex medical cases in real time, and sharing best practices. The quality of diagnostic and treatment services provided by the participating hospitals will also be enhanced through the purchase of medical equipment, the adaptation of premises at the Department and Clinic of Dermatology, Venereology, and Pediatric Dermatology at the University Clinical Hospital No. 1 in Lublin, and the establishment of a Center for Diagnosis and Treatment of Skin Cancer Diseases.

Another key element of the project is enhancing the knowledge, skills, and qualifications of academics and medical staff in the fields of dermato-oncology/dermatology, surgery, ophthalmology, and anesthesiology.

The project is expected to positively impact the quality of healthcare services and the educational offerings of the universities involved. Additionally, it is anticipated that the number of platform users and the adoption of telemedicine will increase as an indirect effect of the project.
